TF Meeting October 2017

Disaster Preparedness and Life Safety Assessments

Recent weather and earthquake events, and their resultant disasters, create the need for assessments and assistance by the design and construction communities. Disaster Assistance and Safety Assessment Programs equip architects, engineers, and contractors with the knowledge and skills to mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from a disaster. As a result, these design and construction professionals are called the “Second Responders” and are trained volunteers in the disaster response processes and assessment protocols, all aligned with local and federal frameworks.
